Acne scarring is known to have a great impact
to sufferers' lives. Even if the main dermatological problem, acne, is
resolved, the marks of it on face, chest and back could be as disfiguring
as acne itself.
It is a constant reminder of a skin imperfection so common yet so unacceptable.
Regardless age or sex, patients with acne scarring will always expect
a better-looking skin.
Only very few NHS Dermatology clinics offer treatment
of acne scarring as it is considered a "cosmetic" procedure.
Please be aware that acne scars cannot be
removed but only improved
What has a substantial impact on the outcome
of acne scarring treatment is the adoption of an holistic approach to
every each patient, and the careful combination of treatments along with
the patients' general health condition. We assess each case in base of
age, sex, and type of skin.
Over the last years we have been monitoring the oxidative stress status
of each individual treated, and recorded the rate of their improvement
in conjunction with their lifestyle, sleeping and eating patterns, stress
levels, exposure to noxious stimuli such as alcohol assumption, smoking,
etc.
Therefore, along with the already mentioned peeling regime, the fillers,
and/or isolagen we recommend specific diet, supplements, and/or changes
of the lifestyle which complement and optimise results.
In our practice we are now engaging combination techniques for acne scarring
treatment in order to optimise results and achieve faster and/or more
efficiently improvement of skin appearance.

Treatments which may help to

Micro dermabrasion
The above treatments work externally on the
skin's surface.
Apart from CO2 laser resurfacing, which is considered the most "aggressive"
of the "surface" procedures, all peeling procedures could be
repeated in regular intervals with satisfactory results.
Their strength should be decided upon the entity of the lesions, and the
skin type of the patient, as well as the patients' lifestyle, considering
possible recovery downtime with stronger peels.
For better results, the peeling procedure is usually combined with treatments
such as:
